Good afternoon Arlington Ridge,
I hope everyone is having a great week… and is enjoying this wonderful great weather...
Had another successful week on the golf course and did get the results back from the soil samples we took from the greens last week. We do have a fungus that is called Fusarium Patch (may also be called Pink Snow Mold) this is a disease that is caused by cool overcast weather. Also, they came out with a statistic this week saying that in 86 years this is the most overcast days. This resulted in cooler weather and rain. We are still making sure we maintain the proper procedures and make sure we are using the correct chemicals and fertilizers. We also sent out another soil sample this week to make sure we stay on top of this, and we continue to get proper growth.
With all of this said we will continue to work on items on the golf course such as Potholes, Tree Trimming, edging cart paths, working on weed controls and making sure we get our golf course in the conditions we all want.
As I said last week, we are 100% committed to getting proper growth and making sure we have a better conditioned golf course. I know I sound like a broken record, but we need warm weather to help us.
I want to let everyone know that tomorrow’s Veterans Event is CANCELLED due to the weather that is approaching the area. We are supposed to get 1 to 2 inches of rain over the next few days, and we need to protect the golf course. The date for the event is March 9th with an 8:30 shotgun.
Also want to give a huge shout out to the winners of last weeks Mixed Couples tournament:
Brian Whaley & Diane Whaley were the Overall Winner. Also Congrats to Barney Leclercq & Karen Wood who were the Gross winners.
Please make sure you sign up for the following events:
· February 23rd, 24th and 25th – Club Championship which will be an 8:30 shotguns start.
· March 22nd, 23rd and 24th – Member Guest all details will be out Monday and sign up will open Monday as well.
Also, by the end of next week we will have all Member Events open on Waddle to sign up throughout the year. Please stop by the Golf Shop and look at the new Outerwear we received this week as well as some of the new golf clubs.
I have also spoken with numerous members this week pertaining to getting tee times and that you’re having difficulties booking times. We are filling our tee sheets and we will do our best to make sure we get you on the tee sheets so you can play golf.
Another successful week in the Restaurant and we appreciate all the support, and the growth has been phenomenal, and I can’t wait to see what the future brings. We truly appreciate everyone, and we continue to grow daily, and we continue to see the staff grow as well. We still have a long way to go, and we are all committed to making this work for this great community.
Also, as I mentioned in the Board meeting yesterday moving forward on Sunday’s we will serve breakfast from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and the restaurant will close, and the Bar will stay open until 4:00. On Mondays the restaurant will be closed all day and the Bar will remain open until 4:00 pm. Also, I know I have some questions about the 10% off coupon in the Restaurant and we will not be taking digital coupon as of now as I’ve been working on this with the The Village Daily Sun and I have put an expiration in the coupons as well. We do want everyone to come and enjoy the restaurant and we will always work with everyone.
