Good Afternoon Arlington Ridge!
I hope everyone is having a great week and enjoying the nice weather…
We had another great week at Arlington Ridge despite the cooler weather and the 5 inches of rain we received last Saturday. I apologize that we closed the Golf Course last Sunday, but after all the work we’ve done and the rain we received, I believed it was the right thing to do to protect the Golf Course. The team continues to work on the potholes on the Golf Course and we are through hole 14 now. We have more divot sand coming in next week and we will continue to make this a focus. Also, we are working on the goose grass and spraying those areas as well. We have numerous items on our checklist, and we will continue to work on them so we can keep improving the golf course. Like I said last week, when we get some warmer weather and sunshine this golf course will strive. As a reminder we will start the tree process after the first of the year and we will be starting on hole 18 and going backwards until we get them all taken care of. We will be needle tinning the greens again next week to keep them healthy and maintain the speed we are looking for. Each day the Golf Course is getting better, and we appreciate all the support each of you are giving to help make the course better.
As I said last week, we have finalized the 2024 Golf Schedule and I will post this schedule next week and will include in my email. I’m very excited about the events we have and hope we can increase the registration in 2024. Please make sure everyone signs up for the:
· Hair of the Dog event on January 1st starting at 9:00 am
Please remember to get your last-minute Christmas gifts in Golf Shop as we still have the 30% sale going on and we have a lot of great items. Also make sure you have signed up for the Taylor Made Fitting day for February 1st, and I met with Callaway this week and we will have dates for a fitting day with them as well… I appreciate the support and I’m very happy in the direction we are heading…
Also, we did fix the locks on the restrooms on hole 16 and the new code is 123678
If you have any questions on this, please make sure you get with the Golf Shop staff, and they can assist you.
The F&B department had a good week. It was a little slower as the Christmas parties have come to a close, and we had a successful season and have had three (3) rebooked for next year and we’ve also gained four (4) other parties booked from events the past few weeks. We also had Kellie Galligan start this week and she has jumped in and learning everything so she can help make the F&B Department better. Please stop in and say hello, so everyone can meet her.
I want to thank everyone that came to the Holiday Gala last Saturday and I know we had some issues and some more learning curves. We will continue to get better, and we will focus on getting these items fixed and learn from our mistakes. I know with each event we will learn from them, and we will continue to get better.
Unfortunately, we are going to cancel the News Year Eve party this year as we don’t have any sign ups and it wasn’t set up properly. I will commit to make sure that next year we will listen to everyone and have a great New Years Eve party.
I have set a goal to have the menu updates by the end of the week and will discuss with the F&B Advisory board, so we can get the menu out and set the other plans I would like to implement by having special nights that will be themed. Overall, we are getting better in the F&B Department, but we still have a lot to learn and get better at. I truly appreciate everyone that is coming in and supporting us. I can’t wait for it to get busier in the upcoming weeks. I am thankful for your patience and for giving me your ideas.
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. I’m so excited for 2024 and the great things that are going to happen at Arlington Ridge Golf Club.
Thanks,
