Jason's Weekly De-Scramble 9.20.24

Good afternoon,

I hope everyone is having a great week and has enjoyed a week with not much rain!!

We had a great week on the maintenance team this past week as we continued to eliminate the weeds on the golf course and continued work on the greens. We have continued to boom spray as well as spot spray the weeds and continue to get them under control. We also spiked all the greens to get some oxygen in them. We had a better week as we had sunshine and not a lot of rain. This will help the greens continue to get into better conditions. We also continued to fertilize the golf course as we are promoting positive growth and help make sure we continue to head in the direction we all want.

Next week we continue to work on these areas and control the weeds and work on the greens. We will also be putting down more fertilization on the greens as well as the fairways and tees. We will spike all the greens to make sure we are getting good ventilation in them. We will also start edging bunkers and making them look better. The team will also be focusing on the weeds with more spot spraying and boom spraying the property.

As I said yesterday in the Board Meeting that we are still looking for the right Superintendent for the property and we will make sure we take our time and get the correct fit. I have been in contact with our Vice President of Science and Agronomy, and he has been on property twice in the past month and will be here again next week as he is helping in this transition and has been a great resource helping us out. I have numerous questions on Danny’s replacement and as I said we will make sure we have the correct individual that will help us get in the new direction.

I want to thank everyone that played in the Tunnel 2 Tower event as I feel like it was another successful event and there were a lot of happy golfers that day. I look forward to hosting this event next year and continuing to make it better each year.

We will start with FY25 memberships next Wednesday, September 25th. Please stop by the Golf Shop and get your registration forms as we are very excited about FY25 and continuing to make positive strides and continue to learn each day on how we can get better. If anyone has any questions, please let me know and I will be very happy to answer your questions.

Please sign up for the following events:

· September 26th, 27th & 28th – Arlington Cup – 8:00 Shotguns each day. Lunch will be served on last round Saturday September 28th. Also we are keeping registration open until Monday at 8:00 pm so we can get more players and have a really fun event…

· October 5th – Pink Challenge – 8:30 shotgun start – “time change”

· October 26th – Glow in the Dark Event – 6:45 Shotgun start and is open on the website to sign up for.

I continue to smile each time I see more individuals sign up for these great events.

Also, I will be posting another Taylor Made Demo Day on Thursday October 17th from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. They are sending their best fitter so please sign-up next week and try some great equipment from Taylor Made.

Another very successful week in F&B as we have had a great week and want to thank everyone that came for Sports Trivia on Wednesday night. Hopefully we can get a bigger crowd next time, but I was very excited to see 76 people in the restaurant on Wednesday evening. Tonight, we have our first performer in the Tavern and yes, it’s sold out in the Tavern. I have spoken with many people today that they didn’t know they needed to make reservations. I apologize as this is a learning curve for me as well and I didn’t realize I should have said make reservations to make sure you have a seat. So moving forward please make reservations for the live performers in the Tavern as we have shows the following three (3) weeks.
