Jason's Weekly De-Scramble 8.9.24

Good afternoon,

Hope everyone is having a great week and enjoyed the beautiful weather we had this past week.

We started the week off with Hurricane Debbie off the west coast of Florida and it left about 10 inches of rain on the golf course. As most of you can see, the water levels are extremely high currently and, in some areas, it looks great and makes the golf course look different. The team did a great job of getting the golf course cleaned up after the storm went past us. We did get out and ninja punch on all the greens as they needed some air in them from all the rain we had the past weekend. We did see some weed growth come back and we are already out spot spraying. The boom sprayer was out this week as well and we are determined to stay ahead of the weed growth.

This coming week we have a lot of plans to continue to work on the golf course. We will continue to spot spray and boom spray this up coming week. We will be verticutting the greens and topdressing them next week to continue to make the greens better each day. We will also continue to punch weaker areas on the greens and make sure we get proper oxygen on the greens. The team will also be punching weak areas and fertilizing the tees and fairways next week to continue to have positive growth and better turf. The golf course is looking better each week and we have seen a lot of great growth in areas and will continue to focus on the weak areas and continue to push to get the conditions everyone is looking for.

We truly appreciate the wonderful comments from everyone on the course conditions and the positive direction we are heading in.

I appreciate everyone that played in the “Superintendent’s Revenge Tournament” yesterday and everyone that tried to beat the “Pro” team. I believe it was another successful event and heard a lot of great comments about the pin placements and I’m glad everyone had a great time. That’s the important part for me, is that we “Have Fun” and everyone enjoys their time while playing. Congrats to all the winners and I look forward to this event next year and we will continue to increase our number of players.

Thank you to everyone that stops by the golf shop and checks in before they play. We still aren’t 100% of individuals stopping by to check in and need your help to check in with the staff.

I want to thank Nolan and Emma for all their hard work this summer and wish both of them luck as they start school in the next couple weeks. They will be missed in the Golf Shop and around the facility as they were great assets to the team... “Good Luck.”
