Good afternoon,
I hope everyone is having a great week and is ready for the weekend.
The team continues to work very hard on the golf course and continue to work on getting the golf course in better shape daily. The past week we did a good verticut and top-dress as we continue to maintain positive turf on the greens. We also did more boom spraying this week as we continue to try to stay ahead of these weeds. The team also did a lot of spot spraying as well this past week.
This upcoming week is the week that starting on Tuesday August 27th we will not have water as the City of Leesburg is doing work in the area. We will have the water in the ponds until it is gone, we are only going to focus on the watering the greens this week. Monday, Danny and his team are going to do another verticut and top dress on the greens. We can spot spray this week but can’t use the boom spray as we would need irrigation after they sprayed. I’m hoping we have a lot of rain next week.
We have a good plan for the week, and we will continue to focus on the golf course and continue to make sure we get the conditions we are all looking for. We will be doing a lot of side jobs to keep the staff busy as well.
I know we’ve had some individuals stop by and wanted to check out the new Footjoy items as the new shoes came in and we will be putting out shirts and some outerwear next week. I know I ordered outerwear early but I’m getting a head start as last fall and winter we didn’t have any outerwear. Also, we will be running a glove deal starting next week and still have the 30% off sale. If we don’t have your shoe size let us know and we can special order them for you.
We still aren’t at 100% of members checking in before they play and we really would like everyone to stop by and say good morning and sell you a sleeve of balls. We truly appreciate all the support in the Golf Shop.

F&B Department had another great week as we continue to grow daily with watching our labor, food costs and running great specials. Thanks for all the positive comments on the BBQ special we had last night, and this new special is becoming a huge success like the Italian and the Asian nights.
Please sign up for the dinner and Band and Dance next Friday August 30th – Dinner will be 4:00 to 6:00 and the Band starts at 6:00 and will run to 9:00. We will have a full bar at Fairfax Hall. Also, I opened the dance at $15.00 and as of today have lowered the price to $10.00 to hopefully generate some more interest and see everyone have as much fun as they did with the last band we had.
Also please make sure you sign up for Sports Trivia on September 18th in the Dining Room ran by Marty Miller. I would love to see us get to that 100 people number for this event as well. We will run a nice special that night as well.
