Good afternoon,
I hope everyone is having a wonderful week and is enjoying this nice, early summer weather that we’ve been having.
Another successful week on the golf course as we continue to push forward and work on getting the conditions, we are all looking for. We will continue to spray for weeds and continue to fight them coming back. We are going to try a different program starting next week, as they seem to come back as fast as they are dying.
The team has also spent some time on continued work on the greens. We are trying to work on getting better speed and will continue to verticut and top-dress the greens as well. I’ve seen some great movement on holes 3, 5, 7 and 16 as we continue to work on these greens as well. As many of you have seen this week, we are doing a lot of syringing of the golf course as we are trying to stay ahead of this heat, and we continue to water through out the day. If you see the irrigation on when you approach a tee box or a green, they will turn off in 3 to 5 minutes. We are watering these areas to keep them from getting too dry. Hopefully the weather forecast they are predicting for next week happens as we desperately need rain to get some areas the irrigation doesn’t reach, as well as water the golf course with some natural rain.
Next week the team will continue to work on the weeds, continue to water as much as we can and will be starting another fertilizer program as well. They also will be getting ready for our next aerification that is scheduled for Monday, June 17th and the golf course will be closed all day. As I continue to say, we are 100% committed on getting the golf course in better shape daily and the plans we have are slowly starting to work. Some rain would really help a lot…
We want to thank everyone that played last Saturday in the ARGC Women’s Day Event as we had 135 ladies from all over the Central Florida Area. Each lady I spoke with had a great time and said they can’t wait for next years event.
Our next event will be Thursday, July 4th for the Red, White, and Blue Scramble Event – 8:30 AM Shotgun.
Also, please make sure you stop by the golf shop and see if we have your size in anything in anything as we continue to have the 35% off sale… We have had some new clothes and towels come into the golf shop in the past week and have new ladies and men’s hat arriving next week as well.
We appreciate the support, and we are excited about the new merchandise we have coming in and we hope you enjoy it as well.
The F&B Department had a slow week but had a lot of successful items that we accomplished. Every day is a learning day as we continue to grow as much as we can. I know this week’s specials are great, so please come out and support the restaurant and enjoy a great meal.
