Good afternoon,
I hope everyone is having a great week and is enjoying the wonderful weather…
We had another successful week on the Golf Course, and we continue to see many positive changes every day. I have started to put a solid plan in place for the golf course to make sure we continue to improve the conditions on daily basis. We continue to spot spray the weeds daily and have seen the Poa start to check out and die. With the weather we have had this week and the unseasonable cooler weather, some of the Poa is starting to slowly creep back out. We are committed to staying on top of this. Also, starting next week we’ve hired a full-time licensed Spray Tech and this individual will focus on controlling the weeds and making sure we stay on top of this issue. We also aerified some of the weak areas of the greens this week, so we can allow some oxygen into these greens and let get some positive growth. The greens are coming back nicely, and we will lower the height on the green’s mowers in the next few weeks and have a better speed on the greens. You may have noticed that we did the Chipco process this week and you can see in numerous areas how weak the turf still is in certain areas. This is a priority to make sure we continue to work on getting stronger turf.
Also, I have had numerous questions that the Maintenance Staff is short staffed, and I would like everyone to know that since the day I started we’ve maintained 10 employees on staff. We have a week or two where we may have been at 8 or 9 staff members while we do the interview process, and we always get back to the number we are supposed to have.
Next week, we will continue focusing on the golf course and make sure we get the conditions everyone is looking for. We are getting closer to growing season and when the humidity starts, we will start seeing a lot of growth. We will stay on top of the weeds with continued work on the greens and fairways. We are 100% committed on getting all these areas done.
I want to thank everyone that played on the ARGC Street Challenge yesterday. Everyone seemed to of had a great time and enjoyed the day.
Also, I want everyone to make sure that we are Aerifiying the greens on Monday, May 20th and the Golf Course will be closed for the day to allow the work to get done.
Next Thursday will be my quarterly Member Meeting at 2:00 in Fairfax Hall, so please make sure you put that date on your calendar.
Please sign up for the following events:
· May 4th – Mela-no-More – 8:30 Shotgun Start
· June 1st – ARGC Woman’s Day – 8:30 Shotgun Start
We appreciate all the support from everyone that plays in all of these wonderful events and look for ways to keep growing them and making them better.
We continue to have growth daily in the F&B Department and continue to see solid numbers daily as we get new guests and patrons in the restaurant. We have great plans to continue the positive direction that we’ve been in the past few months and appreciate all the positive comments.
Also, we will be at the next few events the residents are hosting at Fairfax Hall with a bar, serving Beer and Wine. I have also given the correct contacts for these events a small menu that everyone can call and order food to bring over for the event. We are excited to help during this time and make sure everyone is happy.

Overall, I want to thank everyone for your support and positive/negative comments, as my goal is to continue to have the correct staff while maintaining growth. We have a great community and great golf course, but there is always room for improvement. We still have a long way to go, and I’m convinced that we will get there soon.
Have a great weekend and thanks for all your support.
Thanks,
