Good afternoon,
I hope everyone is having a great week!!!
Another successful week at ARGC as we continue to positive changes and growth. The warmer weather continues to help with the growth of the golf course as I’ve seen a lot of improvement this week. We verticut the greens this past week to help with the thatch on the greens and we also lowered the height on the green’s mower as well. I know they aren’t to the speed everyone is looking for, but if we continue to do the correct practices the speed will come. We continue to spot spray the weeds on a daily basis as we are working on eliminating them. We also will do a boom spray for the weeds weekly. I’ve had numerous individuals ask me when we do this, and the answer is before the daily shotguns and when the shotguns go out, we will do the front nine. I’ve also had a few people ask if we can spray the entire course and kill them all, and I would love to do this, but right now our main focus is getting stronger turf. If we continue to maintain these practices, eventually, we will be able to do that. As I said in October it’s going to be a good year before we get the conditions everyone is looking for…
Next week we are expecting some of our warmest weather of the year as the temperatures will be in the 90’s and perfect growing weather. We will verticut and needle tine the greens to let some ventilation in the greens followed by a light top-dress. Will we finish our second pre-emerge next week as well as fertilize the tees and the collars. In addition, we will continue to work on the weed pressure as well. I see daily positive work getting done on the golf course and I know more is coming in the future.
I want to thank everyone that is playing in the Member / Member this week and we are excited for the final round tomorrow. I know there has been a few mistakes with the handicaps, but moving forward in all events we will make sure this doesn’t happen ever again. We are so excited about the final round tomorrow and we wish everyone good luck…
I would like to discuss the ARGC Street Challenge as I know there are a lot of questions on why the price is so much higher than last year. I was trying to make it a better and more fun event by adding better F&B and prizes. With this, I was eliminating social members to use a social round and make sure they didn’t have to pay the $45.00 rate as well. I want everyone to have a great time and make this a successful event…
Please sign up for the following events:
· ARGC Street Challenge – April 25th – 8:30 Shotgun
· Mela-no-More – May 4th 8:30 Shotgun
· ARGC Woman’s Day – June 1st – 8:30 Shotgun
I really hope to see the number start to go up for these events as we will continue to grow and get better with each event.
The F&B department is continuing to grow and get better each day as we continue to thrive in this department. Once again, the F&B Department was in the black for March making $3904.00. This month, with Troon purchasing a new flat top for the restaurant as the other one died on us. We are making great moves in the F&B Department. With that said we still have a long way to go in this area. The new staff has been great and have caught on, making us a better team… I very excited with the direction this department is heading and can’t wait for more growth.
Here are next weeks specials in the Restaurant, so please come support us and continue to help us grow and make a reservation for these great meals:
