Jason's Weekly De-Scramble 3.1.24

Good afternoon,

I hope everyone is having a great week and enjoyed this great warm weather…

We had a very busy week working on the golf course this past week, we are committed to getting this golf course in the conditions we all want. This past week our main focus was spraying the weeds around the greens, fairways and tee boxes. Our plan is to continue to spot spray the Poa on a daily basis until we see this under control. Currently our main objective is to continue to work on the greens and we are seeing positive growth. With that said, we will continue to spike and top dress the greens weekly. With spiking the greens, this helps provide channels for the roots to grow, as well as getting oxygen into the soil base. The purpose of the top dressing is to have a smoother ball roll and to separate the thatch layer. We did have a hydraulic leak on 15,16 & 17 last week and they have turned brown. This will come back as we continue to grow in other areas. The leaf is damaged and will turn green again!!

We also put out our first pre-emergent this week and this process helps with the goose grass and other weeds. We will finish our second pre-emergent next week so we can stay ahead of this weed control. Also, I do ride the golf course three (3) times a week with Danny, and we meet each morning to make sure that our plan stays in place. Overall, these areas are a top priority for us, and we will focus on this daily.

Also, we had a very successful Club Championship and I want to thank all 40 players that signed up and played. We appreciate the support.

Congratulations to Walt Cobb as the he defended his title with a four (4) hole playoff win. Also, Congratulations to Allene Forward as she also defended her title and has won for the fourth year straight!!

Please sign up for the following events as I would love to see these grow each month:

  • March 9th – Veterans Event – 8:30 Shotgun
  • March 22nd, 23rd and 24th – Member Guest (all details are posted on Event calendar)

I do need a few favors from the golfers... We need to make sure that we don’t tee off before 7:00 am daily and in the shotguns, we need to start on the holes that have been assigned. This is very important to us as I have given Danny and his team jobs that we need to get projects done for the golf course. Mostly as he needs to run water with these projects.

We had a good week in the restaurant, but we still need to figure a way to get busier as well… We appreciate all the great comments and as the golf course we are committed to making this a winner as well. Please stop by Chatham’s as starting tomorrow we will have new breakfast items to try. We are going to carry fresh baked goods. So, stop by and let us know what you think.

Overall, day by day we keep getting better and we keep this cultural change that we are working on. Like I said when I started working here that this will be a process, so please “trust the process.”

Also, if anyone has any questions, please feel free to stop by and see me or call me and I will do my best to assist you in anyway. We appreciate all the support and look forward to a successful March.

Thanks, and have a great weekend….
