Good afternoon,
I hope everyone is having a great week and enjoying the wonderful weather we've had recently.
We continue to make great strides on the golf course, and the warm weather we experienced last week has been helpful, as it encourages growth. The weeds are being effectively controlled and have remained minimal. The team is diligently topdressing and verticutting the greens weekly, and we've seen significant improvement in both growth and speed. We’ll continue to focus on the greens to make further improvements each week. Additionally, we are continuing to fertilize the golf course to promote positive growth after the winter season. I’m very proud of the progress we’re making, and the team is doing a fantastic job every week with all the hard work they put into the property.
The Golf Operations team is expanding, and we’re about to hire several new members. We’re also preparing to implement some significant changes to our operations, including daily Starters, Player Assistants, and eventually, a Cart Attendant. We've seen an increase in outside play and are booking more community events. My goal is to continue bringing outside play to the course as conditions improve.
We are hosting the Ugly Sweater Event tomorrow, and we still have a good-sized field, but I’d love to see even more participants. It should be a fun day, so make sure to dress warmly and wear your “ugly sweater” for a chance to win a prize! Also, please be sure to sign up for the next event:
- January 1st – Hair of the Dog Tournament – 8:30 AM shotgun start.
As I mentioned earlier, we’ll soon be offering Mixed Events and other tournaments online. I’m ordering prizes for these events after the first of the year, and I’m hopeful that we can grow participation and make these events even more enjoyable for everyone.
If you plan to play, please check in with the Golf Shop staff so we can update the tee sheet and track who is on the course.
The F&B department has had a strong month and continues to improve each day with the addition of new staff and ongoing training. While we’ve had a few challenges—such as new team members showing up late or not at all—we are committed to learning from these mistakes and improving. We appreciate everyone’s support, and the daily lunch and dinner specials have been well-received. Jordan and Majdy are working hard to make the dining experience even better.

As I mentioned at yesterday’s Board meeting, we’ll be rolling out a new menu in the first week of January. We’re excited about these changes and are working hard to keep prices as reasonable as possible, though food costs continue to rise. We’ve had to make a few adjustments to keep up with these increases.
Just a reminder, the Golf Shop will close at 4:00 PM on Christmas Eve and will be closed all day on Christmas. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and gets to spend quality time with family and friends. Thank you for your continued support. Our mission is to make ARGC the best community in Lake County.
Thanks, and have a great weekend!
Thanks,
