Jason's Weekly De-Scramble 10.12.24

Good afternoon,

I hope everyone is having a great day and that you have all made it through the storm with minimal to no damage to your properties.

We have successfully weathered Hurricane Milton, but the golf course has sustained significant rainfall. As a result, the course remains closed and will stay closed until the water on several holes has evaporated sufficiently. Currently, holes 2 and 3 are impassable, and we will reopen the front nine once these holes are in better condition. On the back nine, holes 11, 14, 15, 16, and 17 require additional tree work and remain inaccessible at this time. Our maintenance team will be working throughout the weekend to restore the golf course so we can welcome everyone back as soon as possible.

We are very excited to have our new Superintendent on board. He has already demonstrated exceptional commitment and has a comprehensive plan for the upcoming week. This includes verticutting and top-dressing the greens, as well as initiating a new weed elimination program. Additionally, he will begin edging the bunkers to improve their condition. He understands that there is a lot of work ahead, and we have had several productive discussions about our shared goals for the course.

I will be sending daily updates on the golf course’s status. We aim to reopen as quickly as possible without causing any damage to the property. Meanwhile, the driving range and putting green will be open starting tomorrow.

I have rescheduled my quarterly meeting to October 31st at 2:00 PM in the restaurant, where I will introduce Todd and our VP of Agronomy, who will also be present.

I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who participated in the Pink Challenge last Saturday. It was another successful event, and we raised a substantial amount of money for a worthy cause.

Please sign up for the following upcoming events:

  • October 26th – Glow in the Dark Event – 6:45 PM Shotgun Start

I will update everyone about the golf course's status this weekend.

Thank you,
