Jason's Weekly De-Scramble 8.16.24

Good afternoon,

I hope everyone is having a great week and is enjoying the warm weather. We are supposed to have a cooler weekend and not as much humidity.

The golf had a lot of work done this past week as we continue to move forward in the conditions of the golf course. This past week we verticut the greens, we circle mowed the fairways to produce healthier turf and have better lies in the fairways. We continued to spot spray certain areas for weeds as well as boom sprayed this week. The weed control is getting better each day and I know there are still some out there, but we will continue to work on eliminating them. The team also continues to fertilize the golf course and continue to feed it and continue to promote positive growth.

This coming week we are going to verticut the greens again as we need to get the grain and the thatch out of the greens. Danny and his team are going to be aggressive with this next verticut as we are determined to get healthier and “faster” greens. We also continue to work on weed control and start working on other areas of the golf course to make them look aesthetically better. We will continue to mow fairways twice a week and the rough once a week. The definition is starting to look wonderful and excited to see the positive growth daily.

I want to let everyone know that the week of August 27th through August 31st the City of Leesburg is turning our water off to work on pipes for the turnpike. With that being said we won’t be able water much that week. We will have the water in the ponds until we use it all. We have been trying different things this week to make sure we can get through those days and water the greens. If we use all the water for the greens during this time period, we do have a back up plan to hand water so we can protect our green surfaces.

One last item I did hire a tree company to come out and get the trees on #10 and a few other areas around the property, but unfortunately, they didn’t show up the past four (4) weeks. We have had three (3) new companies come out this week to give us a bid and we have one (1) more Monday morning. I know a lot of people have asked and we will get them done and make those areas look better. I appreciate everyone understanding.

Please make sure you stop by the Golf Shop in the next week and look at the new Footjoy products that we will be carrying. I’m very excited to be getting their gloves and shoes in the Golf Shop as we have had numerous comments about getting this company in the shop. We continue to have the 30% off of the older products in the Golf Shop as I would like to see these items dwindle down so we can continue to have fresh products as well…

Also, a few weeks ago I asked that if you play in any of the groups or just want to go out and play, please stop by the Golf Shop and check in with us. We have had numerous golfers out after the Golf Shop is closed and it helps that we know who is out there. Also, if you do go out, please start on the first hole and not just any hole. Also, we ask that you don’t hit numerous shots from tee boxes or fairways to help maintain better turf. Please come and use the Driving Range if you want to practice.

Please sign up for the following events:

One exciting news I announced yesterday at the Board Meeting that I have hired a new F&B Manager, and she will be starting September 3rd. I’m very excited to have her as part of team and I look forward to working with her and watching her help make our restaurant one of the better ones to attend.

I appreciate everyone’s support and I love hearing all the positive comments and I also appreciate the constructive criticism as well. We are going to make mistakes and if we learn from them, we will get better and everyone grows. In the short period I’ve been here, I’m very excited in the direction ARGC is heading and I truly believe the future looks great for all of us.

Thanks,
